The kitchen is a sanctuary and trying to find the right feel or vibe for yours can be a tough challenge. A rustic themed kitchen is a good way to have your kitchen give off a homely vibe while still maintaining functionality. Rustic kitchen furniture can be a little expensive if you’re not careful, and because the ideas are plentiful you may end up spending more than you anticipated. We recommend setting a budget limit for yourself if you’re redesigning your kitchen with a rustic theme. Or if you’re just looking for a particular item, we have a few below that you may be interested in that are reasonably priced.
Mirror
Some people are opposed to the idea of having a mirror in the kitchen and I’m not sure why. Mirrors not only provide a place for you to check yourself out, they also add depth and size to small rooms. Not all of us have the monster kitchens we dream of, so adding a mirror to a rustic mirror to your kitchen can not only help add a rustic vibe, it can also make your kitchen look bigger than it actually is. It is possible to overdo it though. Too big of a mirror in the kitchen can give the wrong idea, so try and keep your mirror modest and not try and squeeze too much extra space out of nothing.
Lighting
In the corner of your dining room or kitchen you can use stand up lamps to add more of a warmth to the room than just traditional overhead lighting. Lights that are closer to the ground feel cozier than overhead ones and a lamp at eye level could really make your kitchen sing. This rustic lamp, available on Amazon, is themed like a tree and has pine cones and tree branches to hold the lamp shade erect. You’ll also notice that the colors of the lamp are very “naturesque.” Using creams and browns in your home will give it a very rustic feel.
Clock
If you don’t already have a clock in your kitchen, a rustic wall clock will add plenty of rustic points to your overall kitchen. A clock is something everyone notices at some point or another, so if the attention isn’t immediately drawn to your nice lamps or mirrors, you’ll at least be able to know that someone looked at your wall clock. Rustic wall clocks feature natural colors like greens and reds to make them seem at home in the outdoors. They’re typically made of wood as well so that they go well with the rustic and minimalist theme. This particular clock costs $25, but if that’s a little too much for a clock for you, there are others to be had for cheaper.
Fire Pit
If you really want to add some flair to your rustic kitchen or home, invest in a fire pit. Fire pits are just contained fires that people can sit outside and enjoy. You can store a fire pit in your kitchen to add a more rustic feeling to the interior, but when Friday nights roll around, you can put it outside on your patio or lawn and have a blast. Fire pits can be expensive, but their craftsmanship is usually top notch and if you invest in a good quality fire pit on the front end, chances are you’ll have it for years to come.
These are of course just a few ideas you can use to buy rustic kitchen furniture. There are plenty of options out there that you can consider, some more expensive than others. Quality rustic furniture can sometimes cost upwards of a few thousand dollars. Older wood and materials aren’t cheap, but they can really finish off a room if positioned correctly.
