Tips for Organizing Your Bedroom Closet

There are some people who can actually get lost in their closet due to all the stuff that is inside of it. If you have trouble finding your clothes or shoes in your bedroom closet, you definitely want to consider organizing the closet so you know exactly where everything is. This can work for small closets when you need every inch of space possible or even for large closets that just don’t seem to have any specific flow to them.

Here are some tips for organizing your bedroom closet.

First, if you really want some organization to your closet, you may have to spend some money on items that will help you out. For example you may have to buy a shoe rack for the bottom of your closet or another closet rod to hang more clothes on. This will all depend what type of closet you have and what you want to do with it.

Before you go out and buy another closet rod, sit down and try to sketch out some ideas for your closet. What would your dream closet look like? Just remember that you are working with the closet space you already have and to be realistic about it. Be sure to include areas in your closet blueprint for all of your items from your shoes to your dresses. If you really want to make a detailed blueprint you can even take the measurements of your closet and make it to scale.

If you are stuck on what to do in your closet, then start with your shoes. There are several shoe storage ideas that you can pull inspiration from. There are shoe racks that can be placed on the floor of the closet and then there are hanging shoe bags that can be hung from the closet rod. Or you could utilize a shelf you already have in your closet for your shoes.

If you are still really having trouble coming up with the best organization setup for your closet, check out the pre-made closet organizers that you can buy. Sometimes these can be a good start to your organization and may work to help you get an idea of what your closet should look like. For some other people, though these don’t work that well because they don’t utilize the space as nicely as they could, but they may still help give you some inspiration.

Lastly, take all your clothes, shoes and accessories out of your closet and purge anything you won’t every wear again. This is a great way to kick off a better organized closet. Then organize piles by either seasons or types of clothing and accessories. This part is up to you depending on how you like things organized. This will make it easier to place the items back into the closet in an organized fashion.

Try not to make your organization more complex than it should be. A simply closet rod, some shelves and maybe a shoe rack should be sufficient enough for most closets.
